Westminster Energy, Environment & Transport Forum Keynote Seminar: Next steps for renewable energy in the UK
This seminar will examine key issues for the UK renewables sector – including meeting the renewable generation and carbon budget targets set by the UK Government and the sector’s place in the UK energy mix going forward.
Chief Executive of the Sustainable Energy Association, Lesley Rudd will speak at this event.
Delegates will discuss what is needed to support the renewables sector during the transition to a low-carbon economy. In light of the ongoing Contracts for Difference allocation round, sessions will focus on the next steps for the sector following the decision to reduce subsidies under the Renewables Obligation for solar.
Delegates will also assess the implications of changes to the Feed in Tariff scheme and generation tariffs for anaerobic digestion and micro-combined heat and power – as well as the future of unabated coal power plants in the UK.
Further sessions focus on the implications of leaving the EU for renewable policy and future support for the sector, including prospects for investment in solar, wind and biomass.
The agenda also looks at latest developments in technology, including advances in storage and home renewable generation.
